Standardization of the Republic of Belarus

State standards are based on the latest achievements of science, technology, international and interstate (regional) standards, rules and recommendations on standardization, innovative standards of other countries, except for the cases when such documents may be unsuitable or ineffective for:

  • national security;
  • protection of life, health and inheritance rights;
  • environmental protection, natural resource management and energy conservation;
  • prevention of actions misleading consumers of products and services over their purpose, quality or safety.

Depending on the subject of standardization, the state standards include:

  • requirements for products, processes of its development, production, operation (use), storage, transportation, sale and utilization or rendering of services; requirements for rules of acceptance and procedures of production control;
  • requirements for technical and information compatibility;
  • rules of registration of technical documentation;
  • general rules to ensure the quality of products (services), conservation and rational use of resources;
  • requirements for energy efficiency and reducing energy and material consumption, processes of production, operation (use), storage, transportation, sale and utilization or rendering of services; terms and definitions, signs, metrological and other general technical, organizational and methodological rules and regulations.

State standards should not be inconsistent with the requirements of technical regulations.

Thus, the state standards of Belarus aid manufacturers in fulfilling the requirements of technical regulations, as well as in selecting the most effective solutions to produce quality and competitive products.
